Disclosure Policy

In order to comply with a recent ruling by the FTC, I’m posting the following disclosure policy for The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities).  You may wonder why I would be doing this, so I will tell you: as I’m sure all my readers have noticed, there are ads and affiliate links running on this blog.  Since the FTC ruling is a bit gray in these areas, it just seems prudent to address them!

Disclosure Policy

If you are reading this blog, please assume the following to be true (if there is ever a case where the following is not true, I will explicitly state it within the post):

  • Every product I write a post about, or that is linked to within a post, is something I have purchased by myself, for my own use in real life, and was not received for free.  However, please assume any link to the product within the post is an affiliate link, which means I could profit from a purchase of said product made through The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities).
  • Any opinion on a product is written without regard for whether I will profit from its sale or not.  I do have integrity, and I would never steer my readers the wrong way intentionally!
  • My experience with a product or service is not necessarily typical of all experiences with the same product or service.  The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities) and all of its authors cannot be held liable if results differ from what is stated in our posts.
  • The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities) makes every effort to only advertise products, companies, and services with which we have had personal experience.  We try to be as selective as possible, and make every effort to block ads that do not have a place on this website.

The decision to run ads and affiliates on this blog was not made lightly, and it is important to me that my readers know this.  This disclosure policy will soon become a static page, viewable from the home page, where you will also be able to find a list of advertisers with which The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities) is affiliated.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who reads this blog for their support and continued loyalty.  I love writing The Table Has Shoes (and Other Ambiguities), so it’s heartening to know there are people reading!
